The Proof: Pipeline

That time I used Google Ads and landing page optimization to fire the founder as the sales leader and generate a 709% pipeline increase through an online self-serve sales model.

The One Where I Increased Pipeline by 709%

The problem: The founder was acting as the sales process. Hello bottleneck.

The remedy: Build a marketing-led acquisition engine capable of generating and qualifying prospects before they ever talk to a human.

The result: Increased monthly free trials from 2 to 17, reduced cost-per-lead by 74.5%, generated 7x ROI, and increased monthly pipeline generation from $208 MRR to $1,683 MRR.

The details: The company wanted to transition from founder-led sales to a scalable acquisition model that could generate customers without requiring constant founder involvement.

The challenge wasn't just generating leads. The challenge was creating enough confidence, education, and product understanding that prospects could move themselves through the buying process without a human hand-holding them.

To support that transition, I redesigned the customer journey around self-guided evaluation. Prospects could watch product demonstrations, explore customer success stories, engage with testimonials, and begin a free trial without relying on a sales conversation. Who gets excited about being sold to, anyway?

The goal was simple: help prospects answer their own questions before they ever needed to ask them. (And ensure they liked the answers they found along the way.)

I combined paid acquisition campaigns with landing page optimization, conversion-focused content, and customer validation assets to reduce friction and increase trial adoption.

Within a single quarter, average monthly free trial sign-ups increased from 2 to 17, while cost-per-lead decreased by 74.5% and cost-per-trial decreased by 80%. For every $1 spent generating a lead, there was ~$63 in potential customer lifetime value.

More importantly, the program increased monthly recurring revenue entering the pipeline from approximately $208 to $1,683 per month, creating a scalable acquisition model that could be replicated for other products.

Maybe just as impactful? The founder could finally focus on things other than giving demos.
